Who We are
We started Cannon Hill in 2018 to provide designers and homeowners in New England and beyond with custom furniture of the highest quality. Now our growing team of skilled craftsmen upholds that intention with every piece we build.

Zachary Hardoon
BioZack grew up in Boston, and attended the Roxbury Latin School and then the University of Pennsylvania. He brought experience as a teacher, carpenter, Appalachian Trail through-hiker, and contractor to Cannon Hill’s 2018 founding, and now manages all aspects of the company. Now, Zack lives in Hyde Park with his wife, son, and dog, Moose. After building over 600 tables with our talented team, he’s especially proud of the response that projects like the table and sideboard below have gotten from the Boston design community.
Sam O’Leary
BioOne of Cannon Hill’s founders and a lifelong woodworker, Sam graduated from Arlington High School and then Wentworth Institute of Technology, with a degree in Industrial Design. Sam designed and built his first woodshop in his parents’ basement, and began working in the trade after seeing some of the finest furniture in the world during a college semester in Germany. Sam serves as our Head of Design and Shop Manager, designing, drawing, and creating CAD for everything we build; he excels in technical pieces like the extending round table below.
Nick Mamakos
BioBorn and raised in Natick, MA, Nick attended Massasoit Community College for art before moving to Los Angeles, where he began his career as a woodworker. When Nick moved back to Boston in 2008 he enrolled in the North Bennet Street School’s Cabinet and Furniture Making program; since then, Nick has worked throughout Metro Boston in various furniture and high-end carpentry outfits. He joined Cannon Hill in 2021, and has proven himself as one of our most capable builders. Nick’s favorite project is the live edge elm conference table below.
Mark Kilcher
BioMark has been a woodworker ever since his father taught him how to use tools as a young child. He graduated Westford Academy and then enlisted in the United States Coast Guard, where he spent four years at USCG Station Woods Hole. Since then, Mark has worked as a linesman, a carpenter, and an IT technician. When he got the chance to join Cannon Hill, allowed Mark to turn a passion into his profession, and he’s risen to be our Assistant Shop Manager. Mark enjoys our most difficult builds the most, and particularly likes the Walnut dining table below.
Kevin Mullin
BioKevin grew up in Wellesley, MA, and graduated the Roxbury Latin School and then Boston College. He and Zack came up together on high-end job sites in Massachusetts and Connecticut, and he eventually began doing carpentry subcontracting work on his own. After helping out at Cannon Hill off and on over the years and assisting on the shop build-out, Kevin joined the team full-time in 2021. He now splits his time at Cannon Hill between the shop floor and the administrative side. His favorite project is this walnut oval kitchen table below.
Issac Canney
BioIsaac grew up outside of Boston, building and remodeling fine homes with his family’s design-build company. He graduated from Hampshire College, where he focused on an interdisciplinary study of architecture and sustainable design. After returning to the family business, he attended the North Bennet Street School’s Cabinet and Furniture Making program. Isaac joined the Cannon Hill team in 2021, and he lives in Jamaica Plain with his wife, their two kids, and dog Sadie. Isaac’s favorite Cannon Hill project is the mahogany dining table below.
Dave Mitchell
BioDave began woodworking growing up in central New York, and hasn’t stopped since. In college he studied literature, geology, and education, traveled to Central America, worked at outdoor adventure camps, and found himself at a small, high-end woodworking outfit during the summers. Furnituremaking became his favorite hobby during over a decade as a secondary school teacher, and since joining Cannon Hill, Dave’s worked on hundreds of pieces and led dozens of builds. His favorite Cannon Hill project is the live edge elm dining table below.
Our Process
Our Process
Clients approach us with a design in need of realization, a problem in need of solving, or an idea for something special – and sometimes all three. We have the experience and expertise to know how to get from any starting point to a finished piece. Sketches, CAD, samples and conversation all move us towards a finished product you might not even have been able to envision at the start.
