Custom Walnut Conference Table in Ipswich
Custom Walnut Conference Table in Ipswich
Most of the work that we do here at Cannon Hill is on dining tables — pieces that are meant to be the gathering place for family and friends, a centerpiece around which meals are shared and memories made. They’re deeply personal to us and our clients. Sometimes, though, we receive inquiries from businesses, interested in custom conference tables. A custom river table like this one sets a certain tone, and we’re proud to have had a hand in that.
It’s not every company that has the time, money, and interest to dive into the process of making custom furniture for their office. When one does, it says a great deal about their culture and their attitude. When we build desks for clients’ home offices — or their office-offices — we like to say that it makes sense to work at a piece of furniture that is more than utilitarian: when we spend so much of our time working, it’s worthwhile in many ways to have something that’s beautiful, or inspiring, even.

This table creates a spectacular place around which the company can meet internally or with clients and vendors. It would be difficult to walk into this conference room and not realize immediately that you’re dealing with a different sort of business. It’s clearly a company that pays attention to detail, takes its work seriously, and recognizes value in quality.
We never, ever lose sight of how lucky we are to work with the sort of material that we do. Thanks to our clients’ taste and willingness to source truly premium slabs, we get to handle the absolute best of the best. This slab is Claro walnut, a subspecies renowned for stunning figure, beautiful grain patterns, and deep, warm chocolate tones. I think mesmerizing would be an appropriate descriptor.
The black “river” up the middle of the table is a two-part marine epoxy, which we mix by hand and pour into the space between the two halves of the table. This can be a painstaking process, requiring careful planning and close attention to ensure a strong result, particularly when we’re after a very specific look, as we were in this case. The swirls and pillows visible in the epoxy were exactly what our client was after, and exactly what we delivered.
If you or your company are in the market for a custom conference table — or any other piece of custom furniture — that’s built to the highest standards of quality, beauty, and functionality, give us a call. This client was in homebuilding, so it makes sense that they’d be interested in craftsmanship, quality, and beauty. But just about every industry prizes things done well, and elegantly, and durability. For us, it’s custom furniture; for you, it could be anything.
