How it Works
Discovery
Tell us about your project. Roughly, what are the dimensions of the piece? What kind of wood do you want it made from? What style of furniture are you envisioning? If you don’t have answers to these questions, that’s fine. Just get us up to speed.
Consulting
We’ll get back to you quickly with any other questions relevant to the early stages of design. We figure out what information we’re missing so that we can give you a sense of pricing, and process.
Design & Pricing
We take all the information we have, and work up a quote for your project. If everything’s figured out, we’ll move on to an invoice. If there are still substantive questions, we’ll work with you to figure out what’s next, whether that’s samples, a site visit, CAD, or more.
Build
Once we have a design, and all the major points locked in, we’ll begin material allocation, build planning, and production. If there are still some items to be determined, we’ll continue to work with you to land on answers, in a way that doesn’t slow down the project timeline.
Delivery
Once your project is complete, a crew of Cannon Hill builders – the same ones who made your piece – will deliver it to your home. With just as much care and attention as we gave the build, we’ll bring the furniture inside, set it up, and answer any questions you may have.

FAQs
How much do tables cost?
Our pricing is as custom as our furniture. Essentially, we estimate how long a piece will take to build – based on actual historical data and our years of experience – and go from there. You’ll find less expensive tables out there, but not better value. With dimensions and design, we can provide general estimates very quickly.
What do you make tables out of?
We work almost exclusively in solid hardwoods, for their beauty, functionality, and durability. We’ll use any species that matches the needs of the project, but we most often build with walnut, oak, maple, cherry, elm, and ash.
Do you paint tables?
Not often, but we can. We’ll typically outsource painting to our friends who do it full-time, to ensure a beautiful, professional finish. We stick to the finishes we know and love.
Will you deliver/ship my table to me?
We hand-deliver within 4 hours of Boston, and we ship nationwide.
Can you make me cabinets?
We specialize in freestanding furniture like tables and desks, although we sometimes incorporate small cabinets into our pieces. Our workshop simply isn’t set up to turn out case goods, so we leave it to those whose are. We are not a millwork shop or a cabinet maker.
Will you repair my existing furniture?
No. There are many great repair and restoration shops in New England, and we recommend you go to them. We just make new furniture. Occasionally, we will refinish an old hardwood table built by another company.
How do your tables extend?
We have a proprietary, tool-free extension system that allows us to add as much as 30 inches of length to each end of a table, without installing any permanent, visible hardware to the underside of the table. It’s rock-solid, and simple to remove.
How long until I get my table?
Our lead times fluctuate throughout the year, but typically fall within the 8-12 week range. We'll be transparent about lead times from the beginning of a project, and when we give you an estimated completion date, we mean it.
